Safe Sanctuary

Lebanon United Methodist Church is a "Safe Sanctuary." This means that we have developed and adhere to protocols to safeguard children and other vulnerable people, and the adults who work with them. The Safe Sanctuary Team monitors the policy and adherence to it, and all staff and volunteers working with vulnerable populations regularly undergo training and screening. The safety of the members of our community is of utmost priority. You can read and download our full Safe Sanctuary policy here

We covenant:

The Lebanon United Methodist Church, United Methodist hereby pledge to conduct the ministry of Jesus Christ in ways that assure the physical and emotional safety and spiritual growth of all of children and youth in our care as well as all of whom work with children and youth. We will follow reasonable safety measures when selecting and recruiting workers; we will implement prudent operational procedures in all areas of programming and care; we will train our workers with children and youth on our procedures and policies; and we will have a clearly defined procedure for reporting a suspected incident of abuse that conforms to the requirements of New Hampshire law.

In all of our ministries with children and youth, the church is committed to demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ so that each child and youth will be “surrounded by steadfast love… established in the faith and confirmed and strengthened in the way that leads to life eternal."
