UMW Giving Artfully
United Methodist Women’s Preemie Mission Project January 2015
Lebanon United Methodist Women have been sewing pretty baptism gowns, memory envelopes, and snuggies (soft clothes with mother’s scent) for struggling newborn babies at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. The Preemie Mission Project offers solace to families who are grieving a loss by providing bereavement items such as handcrafted burial layettes and tokens of remembrance. They are also knitting blankets and caps for these infants of our region. The Saturday workshops have attracted women outside of UMW and women and daughters outside of the church. We are grateful that this inter-generational outreach project is bringing comfort to families. All the garments and cloth envelopes are given to the Chaplains Office at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
